Local journalist and aspiring historian

Hi! I'm Jacquelyn Burrer, and I'm a service journalism reporter at The Dallas Morning News. I graduated from Texas State University with dual degrees in history and journalism with a concentration in Chinese and Latin American studies. Previously, I was a government reporter with Community Impact covering several Collin County communties. I also interned for Community Impact’s Austin office and covered hyperlocal news for The University Star in San Marcos. Additionally, for the past two summers, I interned in Washington, D.C., first as a reporting intern with The Well News and second as journalism program advisor.
