Research
During my final year at Texas State University, I worked closely with several research mentors, including my advisor, Dr. Ellen Tillman, to explore research opportunities and complete my honors thesis. After being introduced to the theory of antipolitics in Dr. Tillman’s Militarism in Latin America course, I became especially interested in applying this framework to my own research. What began as a class concept evolved into a passion project, shaping both my mentored research experience and my honors thesis.
Drawing on my backgrounds in journalism and history, this research allowed me to examine both historical and contemporary events through a unique lens. While only a theory, this research highlights how the expansion of the national security state has gradually reshaped the United States.
